Inter Milan have joined Arsenal in the race for Serie B striker Alessio Da Cruz, according to reports in Italy.

Further to the rumours we brought you that three Premier League clubs were joining the Gunners in showing an interest Da Cruz, TuttoMercatoWeb.com now write that Inter Milan are also after the youngster.

Da Cruz, 20, has caught the eye this season with Novara, scoring five goals and providing two assists at centre-foward. Last season, he spent most of his time on the wing, but on joining the Serie B side he made the transition to playing up front, and is now reaping the rewards. Those seven goal contributions come from just 11 starts as a striker, despite his inexperience in the position.

Alessio has also made six appearances for his country, the Netherlands, at u18 level, although all six of them came back in 2014.

If the youngster continues to score goals, as he did again at the weekend, then I imagine he’ll keep drawing attention from clubs around Europe, even if he is playing in the Italian second division.

However, I still can’t see Arsenal being particularly interested at this point.

The Gunners have at least four first-team strikers at the moment, and more than one or two waiting for a chance at youth level. Da Cruz would have to start scoring almost every game to prove he was worth giving an opportunity to at such a big club.

Right now, he’s not doing that.
