AC Milan have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

According to Calcio Mercato, Milan are ready to make a move for Ceballos, who was linked with Arsenal, as well as Tottenham, earlier in the week.

Despite the 21-year-old only moving to Real Madrid from Betis for a rumoured €18m in July, he’s allegedly frustrated with his lack of game time and, to be fair, he’s got a point. The midfielder’s only made two La Liga starts this season and six appearances.

Even though Ceballos has only featured for 186 minutes in La Liga, he’s still scored twice.

He’s also been subbed on four times in the Champions League.

The Spain u21 international agreed a six-year deal when he signed for Los Blancos in the summer, which means he’s still got until June 2023 on his contract.

Therefore, I don’t see Real selling him or Ceballos genuinely wanting to leave just yet.

Moving to one of Europe’s biggest clubs must be a dream come true for a 21-year-old Spanish midfielder. Would he honestly give that up within one season of being there when he knows how tough the competition is in Zinedine Zidane’s starting XI?

This could be his agent trying to get his client more playing time by putting out a story suggesting the youngster will leave. However, it could just be tabloid talk.
