Arsenal’s FA Cup tie against Nottingham Forest is set to be shown on TV.

The Gunners face Forest on Sunday 7 January at City Ground and fortunately it looks as if it will be televised – unlike Manchester United’s match against Derby.

Unless something changes over the course of the next month, BT Sport will apparently be showing the 4pm kick-off live.

Despite the competition already being in its third round, this will be Arsenal’s and Forest’s first FA Cup clash of the season.

Forest are bound to be feeling nervous. Even though they’re hosting the Gunners, Arsene Wenger has made us the most successful club in the history of the competition and, in May, we beat Chelsea to the trophy.

An added incentive, however, is that winner of the match will receive prize money of £67,500. While that’s not a huge amount for Arsenal and not exactly life-changing for the Forest, it’s still something.

Forest currently sit 13th in the Championship table, so a decent FA Cup run and a little prize money could do them the world of good.

Since Arsenal and Forest first faced each other in October 1904, the Gunners have won 50 to Forest’s 26 and we’ve drawn 22. The last time we played each other, Wenger’s men won 4-0 in the League Cup in September 2016.
