Arsenal have reportedly started provisional talks with Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck over extending their current deals.

According to the Telegraph, Arsenal have already begun provisional talks with Rambo and Welbz over extending their current deals.

Both stars have until June 2019 on their contracts and although Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s deals – or lack thereof – have overshadowed theirs, it does look as if the club genuinely want to tie them down as well.

Earlier in the week, Arsene Wenger hinted that Arsenal are trying to sort out extensions behind the scenes, saying, “Yes, we deal with the situations. It’s an ongoing process. We always try behind the scenes, the negotiations are going on. Of course we only come with things when they are done, but most of the time it’s a year and a half – or more – of work.”

Rambo has been at Arsenal since 2008 when he signed from Cardiff City and despite spending 625 days sidelined through injury since, I still don’t see Arsene Wenger or the club ever allowing him to leave unless that’s really what he wanted.

The boss also seems to be a huge fan of Welbz. The forward we signed from Manchester United in 2014 has made six Premier League starts in nine appearances this season despite the 26-year-old also having to deal with his fair share of injury woes. Since September, he’s missed 11 games because of his hamstring and groin problems.

Wenger always seems to find a way to slot him in and give him minutes, even benching Alexis at the beginning of the campaign to make room for the England international.

It’ll be brilliant if Arsenal can sign both men up to long-term deals soon.
