Arsenal want Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha to replace Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.

Just about any half-decent, in-form winger has been linked with Arsenal as a possible Alexis Sanchez replacement.

According to the Metro, Arsenal have “settled” on Palace’s Wilfried Zaha as their ideal replacement for the Chilean. They get their information from a Daily Star EXCLUSIVE.

Yeah, I know…

Zaha has four goals and two assists for Palace this season.

His form has helped them pull away from the relegation zone.

The Ivory Coast international troubled Hector Bellerin and Calum Chambers in Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Palace last Thursday and his pace and unpredictability are why some think he could replace Alexis in the Arsenal side.

In a team full of passers, Alexis often provides extra flair and improvisation to unlock defences.

However, Zaha’s game is nowhere near as refined as Alexis’.

Zaha, for example, isn’t known for his ability to thread passes through defences the way that Alexis can.

Nor is he anywhere near as prolific in front of goal.

It might be harsh to judge Zaha’s scoring record given the level he plays at, but it has to be considered.

The 25-year-old would add something different to the Arsenal attack with his direct dribbling.

He also has the ability to produce something from nothing.

Unfortunately, a couple of months of good form isn’t enough to suggest he’s capable of replacing the flair, creativity and goals that Alexis Sanchez brings to the team.
