Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Nabil Fekir, as Lyon face Toulouse on Wednesday night, according to a French football journalist.

Matt Spiro tweeted that the Gunners and Barcelona are sending scouts to the match. The media have linked both clubs with a move for Fekir, so he’s presumably the intended target of their scouting.

Arsenal have to face the growing possibility of losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil in the next two transfer windows, and Lyon’s 24-year-old midfielder is a potential replacement.

The French international has 12 goals and three assists in the league this season, in just 15 appearances. He also has a couple of goals in the Europa League, including one against English opposition in Everton.

Alexandre Lacazette’s former club teammate also recently admitted his interest in Arsenal. He named the Gunners among a number of clubs in England and Spain he’d consider joining. So, Fekir is the most likely target.

One other player who could be involved in the match is none other than former Gunner Yaya Sanogo. The 24-year-old joined Toulouse in the summer after his contract with Arsenal expired.

The striker has one goal and one assist in his limited appearances, after only three starts. January reunion, anyone?
