Arsenal would have to pay a huge fee if they want to sign Porto midfielder Danilo in January, according to reports.

Danilo’s fine form this season has seen him linked with various clubs, including Arsenal.

But while several are interested, it’s going to take a significant offer to convince Porto to sell him.

According to Record (via Sport Witness), only an “offer from another world” would convince the Portuguese side to sell.

They report that the holding midfielder is too important to let go when Porto are competing for the title.

He has a release clause of £53m, so he is obtainable for anyone desperate enough for a midfield mid-season.

Arsenal have been watching Danilo for some time now, but have yet to make an offer.

The 26-year-old has featured 20 times for Porto in the Liga NOS and Champions League this season.

He was also a member of Portugal’s Confederations Cup squad.

We could do with strengthening our midfield options, and Danilo seems to be the right style of player.

However, given Porto’s reluctance to sell, we may have to wait until the summer before doing a deal, or moving on to other targets.
