Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura could soon move to Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan, meaning Arsenal will miss out on procuring his signature.

Lucas Moura is out of favour at PSG and has been linked with a move away from the club in January. While he’s been linked with Arsenal, it appears Chinese club Beijing Guoan are making an effort to sign him.

The 25-year-old, valued at £35m, has made just five substitute appearances for PSG in Ligue 1 this season, though has been a regular in the Coupe de France.

With competition from Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Julian Draxler proving to be unassailable at the moment, Moura’s future seems to be away from France.

He was linked with Arsenal as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, and seemed to tick a lot of boxes. A move to China at his age suggests the lure of money is too great for him.

He won’t be the first Brazilian to make the switch. Oscar, formally of Chelsea, went to China in his mid-twenties, along with current Barcelona midfielder Paulinho.

If Arsenal are interested in him, they will have to contend with Beijing’s money.
