Arsenal and Tottenham could battle it out for Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos, with game time alluding him at Real Madrid this season.

The 21-year-old has struggled for minutes at Real Madrid, having featured in just five of their 14 La Liga matches so far.

He arrived at the Bernabeu in the summer from Real Betis after catching the eye for Spain at the u21 European Championships.

According to Diario Gol, Ceballos wasn’t wanted by manager Zinedine Zidane. Apparently, it was Florentino Perez who wanted him so that Madrid would continue building their core of young Spanish talent.

AC Milan, Roma, Arsenal, and Tottenham are all monitoring his situation ahead of a possible move in January. The Gunners were linked with Ceballos in the summer before he headed to Madrid. This report seems to based on any lingering interest Arsenal may have.

However, if game time is the issue, a move to Arsenal might not be the best idea at the moment. Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are playing very well at the moment and will start every league game they’re available for.

With doubts over Ozil’s future, Ceballos could have better long-term prospects at Arsenal than at Madrid, but a move in January wouldn’t solve his current problem.
