Arsenal travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham United in the Premier League on Wednesday night, and Arsene Wenger has a selection headache given his injury woes.

Arsenal will be without centre-back Shkodran Mustafi and midfielder Aaron Ramsey, which could mean a back three of Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Nacho Monreal, with Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac as right and left wing-backs.

Mertesacker, while sluggish these days, has the strength and aerial presence to deal with Andy Carroll, should David Moyes opt for physicality on Wednesday.

Koscielny is no spring chicken either, but having Bellerin alongside will make up for the lack of pace.

Monreal may be targeted for aerial balls by West Ham due to his height, but he’ll have Kolasinac alongside to help him out in that department.

Jack Wilshere has been mooted to start in place of Aaron Ramsey, but Francis Coquelin seems more likely to start due to his combative qualities.

Wilshere is still being treated gently by Wenger, so a London derby might be too physically demanding. I expect him to feature when the game is stretched late on.

A front three of Alexis Sanchez, Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil is expected, although Danny Welbeck may feel he could replace the former given latest performances.

Olivier Giroud could feature in the second-half, but he may feel he deserves the nod over Lacazette after coming off the bench and equalising on the weekend. West Ham’s sluggish defence might prefer his lack of mobility, however.

United’s approach will be interesting on Wednesday. Moyes could play a target man, which would mean Arsenal adopt a high line to counter it, or he could opt for a pacey-counter attacking style, which would mean Arsenal’s defence opt for a low block.

The Gunners’ lack of pace at the back was exposed time and again by Southampton on the weekend, so West Ham might bear that in mind.

Predicted 3-4-3 vs West Ham: Cech, Bellerin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Coquelin, Alexis, Lacazette, Ozil.
