Arsene Wenger has described Manchester City as ‘on another planet’ this season.

Speaking after Arsenal’s impressive 2-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday afternoon, Wenger explained why he had been so angry with City’s offside goal when we visited the Etihad two weeks ago.

“Manchester City is on another planet with the results,” he said.

“That’s why, two weeks ago, I was so angry because they didn’t need that help.”

After beating Leicester 2-0 at the weekend, City now sit a whopping eight points ahead of Manchester United in second place – 12 in front of Arsenal who are currently in sixth place, level on points with Liverpool and Burnley.

City are indeed looking head and shoulders above the rest of the Premier League, this was clear when they played us. Even though we didn’t play that horribly, they were just superior in every area.

At the moment, it looks unlikely that they’ll drop points to anybody. They’re yet to lose in the league and their confidence is sky high. If they strengthen in January, they could be unbeatable. Hopefully not.

At the end of the day, we face City just as many times as we face any other team. In the Premier League, it’s easy to slip up and just one of two bad weeks for Pep’s side could allow either United or Chelsea to pounce. However, do we really want that? Arsenal aren’t going to win it, so as long as City don’t become ‘Invincible’, I don’t care what happens at the top of the table… as sad as I now realise that sounds.
