Danny Welbeck could be back for the North London derby, but Olivier Giroud is a doubt, according to the latest reports.

The Evening Standard write that Welbeck has returned to full training following his hamstring injury, and he should be ready for the match this weekend if called upon.

Meanwhile, an assessment on Giroud’s fitness is taking place to establish whether he’ll be available, but at the moment we don’t know for sure.

Welbeck has started every game he’s been fit for so far this season, although that’s probably partly as a result of Alexis and Özil’s injury-hit starts to the campaign.

His last start came against Watford in mid-October, and before that he appeared against Chelsea in mid-September.

Now we’re approaching mid-November, and it appears he’s in the running to return again. Hopefully the Gunners aren’t rushing him back this time, because that appeared to be the problem against Watford.

Alexandre Lacazette is in good form, having just scored from the bench against Manchester City, so supporters will hope he’s in the starting eleven this time around.

Alexis or Özil could easily be dropped for Spurs, in my opinion, considering their performances against Manchester City at the Etihad were far less impressive.

Perhaps one of them could make way for Welbeck. We’ll have to wait for the weekend to find out for sure.
