Arsenal will rival Barcelona for Lyon forward, Nabil Fekir, according to reports with one Spanish outlet saying the Gunners will ‘steal’ him from Barca.

The 24-year-old has been in excellent form this season, scoring 11 goals in 11 Ligue 1 games for Lyon.

His form has earned him interest from both Barcelona and Arsenal.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Arsenal could “steal” Fekir away from Barcelona.

They report that Barcelona have been watching the forward and believe he would be keen to play in Spain.

Arsenal, meanwhile, apparently see him as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Fekir came through Lyon’s youth system and quickly established himself as an exciting talent.

He ruptured his cruciate ligaments in September 2015 and didn’t return until April 2016.

As a result, Fekir took some time to get back to his best level.

Last season, he scored 14 goals and got 12 assists in all competitions.

He shared an excellent partnership with Alexandre Lacazette, which is yet another reason why Fekir could be a compelling option for Arsenal and he is a player Arsenal have been linked with for some time.

It seems he’s taken his game up to another level this season, and looks set to have his best goalscoring campaign.

He can play on either flank or just behind the striker and has featured predominantly as an attacking midfielder for Lyon this season.

Just in case it isn’t clear, Arsenal cannot, in fact, ‘steal’ Fekir from Barcelona as they don’t own him and theft is illegal, even in football. Sport have form in this area, especially when it comes to Arsenal signing players from Barca’s Academy.
