David Seaman is worried about the uncertainty Alexis and Ozil’s contract situation could cause, and has demanded Arsenal look to tie the pair down as soon as possible.

The former Arsenal and England goalkeeper has urged Arsenal to get the situation sorted before the transfer window re-opens in January.

He’s worried that the situation could have an unsettling effect on the squad, especially when there’s bound to be so much speculation.

“Wenger signed [a new] deal. That’s it, let’s talk about [his future] after two years. That’s been settled [now] Ozil and Sanchez need to be settled. It’s not good for the team, not good for the squad,” Seaman said, as reported by the Daily Mail.

“The Wenger situation had a little bit of an effect, now we’ve got the Ozil and Sanchez thing. It would be nice to get that all sorted and kick on from there.”

Last season, the team’s form dipped when the speculation about Arsene Wenger’s future was at its highest. Wenger admitted at the end of the season that the uncertainty created a “horrendous psychological environment” that affected the performances of his players.

Alexis and Ozil’s situation has been known for some time now, and a resolution doesn’t appear to be close. The two were in top form during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday.

After the match, Wenger said that both wanted to stay at the club, but had very good offers from elsewhere. With the January window approaching, Arsenal will soon have to decide if they need to cash in on the two or not.

There is a risk of the squad becoming unhappy should neither of them commit. For everyone at Arsenal, it would be best if a decision was made one way or another.
