Real Betis believe they can convince Jack Wilshere to sign for them.

The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has become a target for the Spanish club. He’s currently worth £14m, although Arsenal are reportedly keen to keep the midfielder.

However, the Daily Mail say Betis have made contact with Wilshere and are confident they can convince him to join.

They report that while Arsenal want to keep him, Wilshere would be keen on a foreign move if it increases his chances of getting back into the England team.

He was recently left out of Gareth Southgate’s recent squad for the friendlies against Germany and Brazil despite England have a shortage in midfield. Uncapped trio Jack Cork, Lewis Cook and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all got a call-up instead of Wilshere.

Southgate appears to be sending a message to Wilshere that he must be playing regularly in the Premier League if he wants to return to the England set-up. The 25-year-old has featured predominantly in the cup matches for Arsenal this season.

Six of his eight appearances have come in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup. The other two have come off the bench in the Premier League. If Wilshere can’t get more games in the Premier League, he could very well try his luck elsewhere.
