Arsenal got their third league win of the season, defeating Sunderland 3-0, courtesy of goals from Louise Quinn, Vivianne Miedema and Jordan Nobbs.

It took Arsenal an hour to find the breakthrough against Sunderland, but they eventually coasted to a comfortable victory, reports Arsenal.com.

The first-half saw Sunderland keeper Rachel Laws kept busy as several chances fell Arsenal’s way.

Beth Mead forced the Sunderland keeper into a couple of saves early on, before Dutch striker Vivianne Miedema headed over a cross on the half-hour mark.

Laws was then called into action again, as she got in the way of a Louise Quinn header from a Jordan Nobb’s set-piece.

On the hour mark, Arsenal finally found a way past Laws. It was another Nobb’s set-piece that caused Sunderland all sorts of problems, and this time Quinn was able to find the back of the net.

Eight minutes later, Miedema curled one in from the edge of the box to make the result safe.

With the game reaching its end, Nobbs showed off her set-piece prowess once again by scoring a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area and adding some gloss to the scoreline.

The win puts Arsenal up to third in the WSL table, three points behind Chelsea and five points behind leaders Manchester City.
