Paris Saint-Germain have resurrected their interest in Alexis Sanchez, and will reportedly fight with Manchester City for his signature.

Arsenal are preparing for a January tug-of-war over Alexis Sanchez. That’s according to the Mirror, who report that PSG are once again interested in the Chilean and could make an offer in January to head-off competition from Manchester City.

By this point, it’s inevitable that Alexis will leave, in my opinion. The only question is where and for how much.

PSG did make an attempt sign him in the summer, but then went on to sign Kylian Mbappe from Monaco. Their front-line looks considerably stacked too, with Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Julian Draxler as options.

City, meanwhile, came the closest to actually signing him. Only a last-minute intervention from Arsenal prevented the deal from going ahead.

From the Gunners’ perspective, they would surely prefer to sell Alexis abroad than to a Premier League rival. Unfortunately, they’re not in any position to be dictating terms.

Alexis will be out of contract in the summer and will be free to agree a pre-contract deal six months early with a foreign club in January.

PSG could be happy to wait until the summer to sign him, should they have an agreement in place in January, or they may pay a fee to sign the former Barcelona man earlier.
