George Graham believes that Arsene’s Wenger’s time at Arsenal needs to come to an end.

Graham admits that while Wenger has been great for the English game as a whole, the 68-year-old needs to stand down as Arsenal manager.

“What do you do? He loves it. I just think we all have our time,” Graham told the Guardian. “You’ve had your period of success. Now move on. I’ve had my time. I can do without the limelight.”

During Graham’s nine years in charge of the Gunners, the Scotsman won the First Division title twice, the League Cup twice and the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup.

While he didn’t quite enjoy the success that Wenger later did and certainly didn’t play the attractive flowing football the Frenchman strives for, he was a great manager in his own right.

Graham’s not the only person from Arsenal’s past that believes it’s time for Wenger to quit the club he’s been at for 21 years. Most fans are convinced that the Frenchman isn’t the right man to take us forward – I’m one of them.

However, as you can tell by Graham’s comments, he has nothing but respect for his long-term successor.

The Gunners are currently sixth in the Premier League table after losing 3-1 away to Manchester City on Sunday. Our next match isn’t until after the interlull – a North London Derby at the Emirates, with Spurs sitting four points above us in third. Fun.
