Olivier Giroud may have picked up a knock while training with France.

The striker was training with the French national team at Clairefontaine when he was pictured clutching his lower leg in pain. The Daily Mail have called this is an injury scare, as they report Giroud was rolling around on the floor in agony.

There’s no news on if he continued to train, or if he sat out of the rest of the session. Giroud takes plenty of knocks during games that leave him rolling about on the ground, but he’s usually fine within a couple of minutes, from what I’ve seen.

France have already qualified for the World Cup in Russia this summer, and will play two friendlies during this international break. They come up against Wales on Friday night, before playing Germany the following Tuesday.

Giroud is very much a back-up player at Arsenal now following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette. He’s appeared in all ten of Arsenal’s Premier League games this season, but has yet to start a single one.

The 31-year-old started all of Arsenal’s cup games, though, and scored a memorable winner against Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League. He has three goals this season, and recently reached the 100-mark for the club.
