Deportivo la Coruna are looking to buy both David Ospina and Lucas Perez permanently next summer, according to reports in Spain.

Lucas has already joined the club on a loan deal, but El Gol Digital write that Deportivo will try to make the deal permanent next summer. They also claim that the club will go in for Ospina at the same time, having tried and failed to sign him in the last window.

It’s claimed Deportivo only decided not to push the Ospina deal this summer so they could focus on bringing Perez in. However, they’ve been encouraged by the fact the Arsenal goalkeeper has reportedly ruled out a return to Colombia at this stage.

If the Gunners can get a decent fee for both players, then it would probably be a deal worth doing, in my opinion.

Lucas Perez never particularly disappointed in England last season, but Wenger clearly didn’t trust him enough to give him consistent starts. It’s hard to see how that would be different next year.

Meanwhile, Ospina is Arsenal’s first-choice keeper in the domestic cups and in Europe, but he hasn’t performed much better than Emi Martinez did last season or Matt Macey has in this campaign.

It’s probably better for the Gunners to bring in some cash, promote from within or put the money towards a new goalie to rival Čech.
