Sead Kolasinac’s missed tackle in the build-up to Manchester City’s opening goal proved costly in Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat on Sunday.

It only took Manchester City 18 minutes to get the lead against Arsenal on Sunday. The goal was scored by Kevin De Bruyne. He played a one-two with Fernandinho to get around Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil, drove into the box and finished across Petr Cech with his left foot.

You could blame any of those players for allowing that goal to happen. Jamie Carragher, though, has pointed the finger at Sead Kolasinac, who was on the other side of the pitch at the time.

The Sky Sports pundit believed Kolasinac should have tackled, or at least brought down, David Silva in the build-up to the goal.

“This is unforgivable for me, Kolasinac is a tank. David Silva there – win the ball, foul him if you have to,” he said, as reported by the Metro. Once Kolasinac missed the tackle, City were able to get shot off on goal.

The first goal came when they collected the ball off the rebound and played in De Bruyne. The tackle itself was a lazy one, and not something we’ve come to expect from Kolasinac in his short Arsenal career.

With the way the game was going, though, it might not have mattered if he won the tackle or not. City made more than enough chances to win the game comfortably.
