Arsene Wenger has backed Jack Wilshere to receive an England call-up.

The England national team have friendlies against Brazil and Germany coming up, and may look to Wilshere to solve their midfield and creativity problems.

The 25-year-old is looking sharper with every game, and Wenger now believes he’s ready for call-up.

It’s encouraging to hear Wenger describe Wilshere as “super fit” after his recent struggles with injuries.

Wilshere was eased back into first team action, starting with an appearance off the bench against Cologne in the Europa League.

He then started against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup third round. Having gotten through 90 minutes, he received further starts against BATE Borisov and Red Star Belgrade.

He recently completed 120 minutes against Norwich in the Carabao Cup fourth round and came through unscathed.

While Wilshere has been proving his fitness, he’s always demonstrated his quality and is now a genuine option for the first team again.

He made his Premier League return as a sub in the 5-2 win over Everton, where he set-up Aaron Ramsey for Arsenal’s fourth goal of the day.

He is expected to start again against Red Star on Thursday night.
