Karim Benzema could now be available to join Arsenal after falling out with Real Madrid over his poor scoring form this season.

Benzema has made a less-than-inspiring start to the season, only scoring one league goal in eight matches, which has led to him receiving a lot of the blame for Real’s poor form.

According to the Mirror, the striker blames manager Zinedine Zidane and teammate Cristiano Ronaldo for his woes, and could look to leave the club if things don’t change.

The Daily Star write that Arsenal are still interested in the 29-year-old, and could use the opportunity provided by Benzema’s falling out with Madrid to make a January move.

The French international did score two goals against APOEL Nicosia on Tuesday, which should have won him a bit of favour with supporters, but that still only makes four goals in 14 appearances for the season.

As always with Benzema rumours, I’m sceptical. Arsenal have plenty of options up front at the moment, including a club-record signing in Alexandre Lacazette.

Benzema is also approaching his thirties, and for a player who could end up costing a fair amount – as he’s playing for one of the richest clubs in the world on a long-term contract – that’s difficult to ignore.
