Arsenal are set to complete a deal to bring Sven Mislintat from Borussia Dortmund to North London, to become the club’s new head scout.

According to reports from Sport Bild in Germany, the Gunners will pay £1.8m to bring Mislintat in to eventually replace Steve Rowley, although the two will work in tandem until the end of the season.

Rowley had been Arsenal’s chief scout for even longer than Arsène Wenger’s been Arsenal manager, but changes continue to be made behind the scenes and he looks to be the latest to go at the end of the season.

Arsenal may have a job on their hands over the next few windows, considering the relative inactivity over the summer, and the contract situations of so many players.

The Gunners only brought in Sead Kolašinac and Alexandre Lacazette in the last window, despite having other areas of concern in the team. Mesut Özil, Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere are all in the final year of their contracts, and replacing them may soon become important as well.

Bayern Munich have previously tried to entice Mislintat to leave Dortmund, as the 45-year-old has succeeded in discovering players such as Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele, reports the Daily Star.

I’m sure any signings like that to replace the Gunners’ stars would be more than welcome, so hopefully Mislintat can join up with the Arsenal backroom team as soon as possible.
