Supporters are excited about the appointment of Sven Mislintat as Arsenal’s new Head of Recruitment, believing him to be the man who can help turn the club around.

Earlier this week, Arsenal officially announced that the German would be joining from Borussia Dortmund, taking over from Steve Rowley as head of recruitment.

Fans have long felt the club has under-performed in the transfer market, so the change was largely welcomed. Ivan Gazidis had previously talked about how Arsenal were prepared to make changes behind the scenes.

But despite the appointment of Per Mertesacker as the Head of Academy from next season, Darren Burgess as Director of High Performance and Jens Lehmann as a first-team coach, fans felt that more could be done in the transfer department.

Mislintat’s appointment therefore represented the first step in the right direction for some:

Meanwhile, American Arsenal fans were just excited by the prospect that bringing a Dortmund scout in could improve the Gunners chances of signing young USMNT star Christian Pulisic:

We’ll probably have to wait a bit longer to find out what kind of impact Mislintat will really have on Arsenal’s transfer situation, but at least the club are taking steps to try and address their previous failings in different departments.
