On Wednesday, Arsenal face Huddersfield during their second Premier League match out of three in the space of a week.

The Gunners can’t afford to get complacent against Huddersfield Town, who put up a good fight versus Manchester City at the weekend, only narrowly losing 2-1 to two penalties.

The Terriers are currently 11th in the table having won two out of their last five matches. They’ve only come away with three points four times in the league this season. However, you just know that Arsenal will be keen to hand them their fifth.

Why? Well, firstly, because we’re Arsenal and we’re a charitable bunch when it comes to handing mid-table teams unnecessary points, and secondly, all the stats are in our favour. For example, according to Opta, since we first faced in other in 1913, the Gunners have won 33 compared to Huddersfield’s 16.

Arsenal have won six of their last seven league games against Huddersfield and the visitors have won just one of their last 15 matches against the Gunners in all competitions.

Huddersfield’s last away win against Arsenal came back in November 1954 and we have won 11 Premier League home games in a row.

Therefore, everything’s in place for a massive upset. Huddersfield will sit deep and try to hit us on the counter, like most teams have learned to do, while Arsene Wenger’s side struggles to break them down.

However, Arsenal really can’t afford a slip up. We’ve just managed to break into the top four with a last-minute win at Burnley and it feels as if our success is balanced on a knife’s edge. With Manchester United on Saturday, we can’t be complacent.

Mesut Ozil is said to be facing a late fitness test after missing the Burnley match through illness, which means we won’t have that creativity from midfield, and Alex Iwobi is out with a ‘dead leg’. Therefore, we’re going to have to rely on the rest of the lads to dig deep, not be wasteful with the ball, and fight to grind out what I imagine will be a difficult victory.

Score prediction: 1-0 – to the Arsenal, of course.

Predicted XI: Cech, Kos, Mustafi, Monreal, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Ramsey, Bellerin, Wilshere, Alexis, Lacazette.
