Arsenal have signed a deal with a new commercial partner in WorldRemit.

In an article posted on the WorldRemit website, they announced that they were becoming the Official Online Money Transfer Partner of the Gunners.

The new agreement involves branding on advertising hoardings, the TV interview backdrop, and global digital and social media rights across the club’s online and mobile platforms. The company are also planning a number of competitions to give away tickets to travel to London and watch matches at the Emirates.

Arsenal’s Chief Commerical Officer, Vinai Venkatesham, said of the deal: “This is an exciting new partnership…We share mutual values and look forward to working together to build their global presence through our broadcast, social and digital channels which reach millions around the world. We look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

It’s good to see the club continuing to work behind the scenes, as this was a key area fans saw them falling short. They’ve brought in a new fitness coach to address the long injury list (which now only contains Santi Cazorla), and Jens Lehmann and Per Mertesacker have been offered roles off the pitch as well. Sven Mislintat has joined to address the issues in the transfer market, and now finally Arsenal seem to be getting some new commercial deals done.

This shouldn’t be anything more than the bare minimum expected of a club like Arsenal, but still, it’s definitely promising to see some progress.
