Arsene Wenger has hinted that Eddie Nketiah could soon get a chance in the Premier League.

The 18-year-old scored a brace off the bench against Norwich on Tuesday and helped them to a 2-1 victory. It was impressive work for someone making his home début and had just minutes to make an impact in a game Arsenal were struggling in.

Naturally, Arsene Wenger was asked about Nketiah in his pre-Swansea press conference, and the boss has hinted that the striker could be in line for a chance in the Premier League.

Nketiah has been involved in every matchday squad for Arsenal’s games in the Carabao Cup and Europa League this season. He made his début off the bench in the 4-2 win over BATE Borisov.

With three wins from three in the Europa League, Wenger may be more willing to give Nketiah a run-out against Red Star Belgrade next Thursday.

Before then, Arsenal welcome Swansea to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. With Jack Wilshere, Alex Iwobi, Olivier Giroud and possibly Theo Walcott all set to make up the bench, it’s difficult to see how Nketiah could be involved.

However, should he continue to impress in cup matches, he could force his way onto the Arsenal bench in the near future.
