Arsene Wenger has praised Sead Kolasinac after his match winning performance against Swansea.

The Gunners were finding it difficult to break down a resolute Swansea team on Saturday to get back into the game.

That was until Sead Kolasinac stepped up and hammered in an equaliser, before going on to provide the assist for Aaron Ramsey’s winner.

Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his left wing-back, and believes he has the mentality that fans prize.

“Sead’s a winner,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.

“Fans want winners and he could deliver again when it was needed today. He didn’t hit it [his shot] into the stand, he hit it into the back of the net. That shows that the guy is a winner.

“He’s been a success because he’s a good football player, and he looks like he’s made for the wing-back position because he likes to go forward and the timing of his runs is very good. After that, I believe as well he has that natural physical power that is needed in the Premier League. Without that, you struggle.”

Kolasinac has started his Arsenal career in excellent form.

While his size and frame are so striking, the most impressive thing about him has been his technique and composure in the final third.

With two assists to his name, he’s shown the ability to get his head up and pick out a team mate in the box.

On Saturday, the timing of his runs down the left hand side were a highlight of his performance.

He was withdrawn late on due to tightness around the hip area.

The sub was deemed a precautionary one by Wenger.

Kolasinac would have sat out the game against Red Star Belgrade on Thursday regardless, and, with any luck, will be fully fit for the trip to Manchester City on Sunday.
