Arsene Wenger has few concerns about Mesut Ozil’s commitment to the team.

Ozil has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, with reports claiming he’s close to a move of Manchester United.

There has been some thought that Ozil isn’t committed to Arsenal anymore and is therefore no longer a guaranteed starter.

However, Wenger has suggested that this isn’t the case, and that Ozil will continue to be selected despite all the rumours and speculation.

“I believe that at the moment I just focus on what is the best possible team for the next game and have no pre-conceived ideas if the guy will be 100 per cent committed or not,” Wenger said, as reported by the Evening Standard.

“That would be unfair on my side, because you don’t have any opinion about that. When a player plays for Arsenal Football Club, his commitment cannot be linked with the length of his contract, it has just to be linked with the responsibility and the ambition he has to win the football game.”

Ozil has no goals or assists in six appearances for Arsenal this season.

He’s also been out of the Arsenal team recently due to a knee injury he picked up before the trip to Chelsea in September.

Despite being fit again, he started on the bench in the 2-1 defeat to Watford.

He came on as second half substitute, and missed a guilt-edged chance just before Watford won a penalty.

The miss didn’t do him any favours, as more criticism about his work rate and application was thrown his way.

There shouldn’t be any reason why he can’t play against Everton on Sunday.

He’s no longer being hampered by an injury, and Arsenal require a bit more quality in the final third.
