Danny Rose and Erik Lamela are set to return to Tottenham’s squad ahead of the North London Derby on 18 November.

The Evening Standard claims that while Spurs won’t rush Rose or Lamela back, they should return from their long-term injuries before their side trudges up the road to the Emirates next month.

Rose, who managed to score against the Gunners during the 2009/10 season, has been sidelined since 31 January when he suffered a knee ligament injury against Sunderland.

The 27-year-old had surgery on 16 May and returned to first team training after eight months out this week looking even grizzlier.

Lamela has been out for 11 months after injuring both hips. He underwent surgery for the left side in April and the right in May.

Since signing for Spurs from Roma in 2013, the 25-year-old hasn’t managed to score against Arsenal but he has racked up two assists and three yellow cards.

There’s apparently a chance they could feature against West Ham in the League Cup on 25 October. However, Spurs won’t want to take any chances by rushing the duo back so early November, i.e. ahead of the North London Derby, is a far safer bet.

Tottenham have been doing pretty well without the pair but considering they were key players for our noisy neighbours when fit, it’ll be a boost to see them return to the fold.

Damn.
