Several Arsenal players have reportedly grown irritated with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez after the pair didn’t show up for a club media day on 21 September.

According to an EXCLUSIVE from the Standard Sport‘s James Olley, Ozil and Alexis never showed up to an Arsenal media day at London Colney, which the players are usually obliged to attend.

While the club apparently claimed that both players were sick, the report points out that the Chilean had just played 90 minutes against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup the night before and while Ozil was carrying a knee injury, Arsene Wenger never mentioned any illness in his pre-West Brom presser that morning.

This isn’t the first time that Ozil and Alexis’ Arsenal teammates have allegedly become tired of their apparent lack of willingness to face the media.

The duo’s dwindling enthusiasm to speak on behalf of the club has reportedly led several Gunners to believe that they’re definitely not signing new contracts once their existing deals run out at the end of the season.

Ozil – or his PR team – made a post on Instagram following the 4-0 defeat away to Liverpool in which he apologised for the team’s performance. However, other than this, the German international has said very little publicly and Alexis has been more or less completely silent.
