Manchester City are reportedly planning on bidding £20m for Alexis Sanchez in January.

City are said to be willing to cough up £20m for Alexis in January rather than wait for him to become available for free at the end of the season.

According to the Daily Mail, this means that AC Milan might make a move for Sergio Aguero at the same time as the 29-year-old will apparently become more likely to be available once Alexis comes on board.

While £20m doesn’t sound like anything compared to the £60m City were said to have offered at the end of the transfer window, the forward will only have a matter of months left on his current contract come January. Perhaps the Manchester side are hoping that Arsenal would rather get some money than nothing at all.

The Chilean has only scored once and assisted twice in seven appearances this season, whereas Aguero has found the back of the net seven times in eight while assisting three. Therefore, if Pep Guardiola fancies throwing the Argentine into the deal, I’d be over the moon. In fact, forget the £20m, just give us Aguero.

Somehow, I don’t see this happening though.

The City forward is currently recovering from a car accident he was involved in Amsterdam at the end of September. He has a broken rib but should apparently return in a month-and-a-half.
