Nacho Monreal has made Gareth Crooks’ Team of the Week.

Crooks has named Monreal in his Team of the Week following the Spaniard’s brilliant performance against Brighton on Sunday.

The 31-year-old scored his first Premier League goal since March 2013 during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over the Seagulls and was fantastic overall. The defender completed 97% of his passes, and won two aerial duels.

Monreal is one of the most consistent players in this current Arsenal team and the goal was just the cherry on top of what’s been another solid season for him so far.

As well as having to adapt from left-back to centre-back in a 3-4-2-1 (or 3-4-3) formation, Monreal has been Arsenal best player this term according to stats by Squawka.

In fact, the defender is ranked the 12th-best player in the league at the moment – two places above Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.

Given how passionate Monreal is, it’s great to see him getting rewarded for the work he puts in.

Predictably, Crooks’ Team of the Week was dominated by Spurs players; Monreal was the only Gunner.

Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies and Harry Kane were all included after Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Huddersfield.

The ex-Spurs man also included Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini after the Red Devils beat Crystal Palace 4-0 at Old Trafford.
