Leicester City could sign former Arsenal and France defender Bacary Sagna on a free transfer, according to latest reports.

The 34-year-old is currently without a club following his release from Manchester City last summer. According to the Sun, Leicester are the latest team to express an interest in signing him, as they seek cover for first-choice right-back Danny Simpson.

Sagna has been linked with a host of clubs since the close of the transfer window. Brighton, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Torino have all been named as potential destinations. Arsenal have been linked as well, as they could use some cover on the right side of their defence.

The ex-Gunner spent three years at Manchester City before finding himself part of a major overhaul of their full-back positions. He, alongside Gael Clichy and Pablo Zabaleta, were all allowed to leave, while £120m was spent to to bring in Danilo, Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker.

Sagna joined Arsenal in 2007 and made 285 appearances in all competitions for the club. He won the FA Cup in 2014 before leaving at the end of his contract to pursue a new challenge elsewhere. And now he could be returning to the Premier League if rumours are to be believed.
