Lazio are reportedly considering a move for ex-Gunner Bacary Sagna.

After being released by Manchester City in June, Sagna is still without a club and Lazio are one of the teams reportedly interested.

Inter Milan, AC Milan, Wolfsburg and Leicester City have all been linked. However, it’s unclear how solid the interest is considering he’s been without a club for months.

The 34-year-old was a good right-back and most Gooners were sad to see him go to a rival side in 2014 but it was always made pretty clear that the Frenchman’s move up to Manchester was for financial reasons. At his age, he wanted to get the best wages possible and he obviously knew he could get that at City.

Sagna was allegedly getting £80k-per-week at the Etihad, which was pretty much the going rate when he joined. However, now he’s 34 and isn’t the fittest player. While at City, he spent 166 days sidelined and only made 49 Premier League starts during his three years there.

Therefore, his failure at finding a new team could be down to a combination of his wage demands and unreliability when it comes to staying fit.

Hopefully, Sagna finds somewhere new soon.
