Sead Kolašinac believes he’s settled in well and made a good start at Arsenal, but wants to show that he can get even better.

As Jack Wilshere pointed out this week, Kolašinac has already become a bit of a fan favourite, with goals, assists and strength all on show on multiple occasions already. Sead says the catalyst for his success is the way the other players have integrated him into the team. He told Arsenal.com, “The main reason is the way the team have welcomed me here.

“It helps you on the pitch when you know they have accepted you and accepted you in the way they have. That’s definitely been the main reason for it.

“The season is young but I am happy with how I’ve developed and how I have started. But I have got more potential to get better and I want to show that in the coming games.”

The wing-back will have to shake off a small knock he picked up over the international break to feature against Watford on Saturday. With an injury to Shkodran Mustafi as well, doubts over Laurent Koscielny and Calum Chambers, and Nacho Monreal needed in the back three, supporters will hope Sead can recover quickly.

If not, then it might be a first league start of the season for Ainsley Maitland-Niles who has made three starts for the Gunners at left wingback this season.

Hopefully this won’t be something Wenger needs to worry about, and we’ll see Kolašinac’s powerful runs and no-nonsense defending from the start this afternoon.
