Roy Keane thinks that most Premier League teams are ahead of Arsenal at the moment.

Keane was speaking on ITV about the Gunners, after Arsène Wenger’s side lost their third match of the season, to Watford.

When asked if Tottenham were now ahead of Arsenal, the former Manchester United midfielder replied: “I think most teams in the Premier League are ahead of Arsenal,” reports the Daily Star.

“Spurs now are rock solid, a really good team. They went to Real Madrid, they were very brave and showed a lot of courage. Their manager and players deserve great credit because this is a top Tottenham team now. They can be a threat in the Champions League, getting into the knock out stages and getting to a quarter-final maybe.”

Keane was most-likely exaggerating to make a point, because however badly Arsenal are doing at the moment, the club are still in the top-six of the Premier League, and aren’t even the worst performing of the big six clubs so far.

The problem is that whilst a club like Liverpool expect that they’ll be bouncing back any time now – and a 7-0 win on Tuesday is a good sign that they can do so – Arsenal supporters are far less optimistic. To them, it feels like more of the same.

Plus, when it comes to the Gunners’ North London rivals, it’s much harder to argue that Arsenal are close behind on current form. It’s a bit unfair to judge the two teams on their European exploits, as they’re in different competitions, and Wenger’s side have an 100% record so far.

However, in the league, there’s already a four-point gap, and it doesn’t feel like that gap will be closing anytime soon.
