Olivier Giroud says the goals he scored against Leicester, Spurs and Manchester United were some of his favourites for the club.

Olivier recently reached 100 goals for the Gunners with a penalty against BATE Borisov. He’s talked to the Arsenal website about which ones he thought were the best, saying: “The Leicester one was a very important one because it was the first game of the season and we needed this win at home to keep the confidence high.

“In my first north London derby maybe, or one of the first at the Emirates. He put in an early cross and I tried to put it in the net, but it was very quick and I have more confidence in my left foot so I took on the outside.
“It was a great feeling because I couldn’t imagine how big it was for the fans and obviously for us in the dressing room. It was one of my best moments definitely.
“I also like the one when I came on against Manchester United a couple of years ago. It was a hard game for us but I scored a half-volley in the top corner. We lost the game so I was not fully happy after this one, but there is some nice technique there.”
You can watch all of Giroud’s 100 goals in the below video, including the Leicester header (number 99 in the video), that derby goal against Spurs (number 21) and the half-volley against Manchester United (number 42).

Olivier’s clearly not remembering quite right, since he’d already scored in a North London derby at the Emirates before the goal he described above. I guess when you’ve scored 100 goals for your club it’s hard to remember every one perfectly.
Regardless, Giroud has scored so many important goals for the Arsène Wenger’s side, and it’s nice he has happy memories of some of the best.
It’s especially good to hear that one of his most recent efforts goes down as one of his favourites, after Olivier committed his future to the Gunners over the summer, when he had the chance to leave.
It shows he’s still enjoying his time here, whatever people say, and is still passionate about helping Arsenal to win matches.
