Arsenal are set to see Chambers and Ospina return to the fold in time for Thursday’s match against Belgrade.

Here is the latest on Arsenal’s injured and returning players:

1. Danny Welbeck…

…was forced off against Watford in his first game back after an injury at Stamford Bridge a few weeks earlier. It’s fair to say he’s not had the best luck with injuries whilst in North London, and Wenger says “he will not be back before the international break”, meaning his return will more likely come in time for the match against Tottenham on 18th November.

2. David Ospina…

…has also been out since that Watford match, injuring himself in the week building up to the game, making it three injuries and a defeat in total for that trip to Vicarage Road. However, David could be back for the Gunners’ Europa League match on Thursday, so he’s close to a return.

3. Santi Cazorla…

There have been no new updates, which in a way feels like good news, because it means his timeline hasn’t been pushed back even further. At the moment he’s set to return in time for New Year, if all goes well.

4. Calum Chambers..

…is back in full training, so he will hopefully be available for Thursday’s match, as that will give one of Arsenal’s other defenders a rest ahead of the weekend game against Manchester City.

5. Shkodran Mustafi’s…

…injury will keep him out until after the international break, so he will join Danny Welbeck in returning to the action in time for Tottenham unless there are any setbacks.

By the end of the international break it should be just Cazorla still out of action.

Well, apart from all the new injuries players will pick up in pointless international friendlies, of course.
