Barcelona are looking to offload supposed Arsenal target Arda Turan in January, according to reports.

The midfielder is thoroughly out of favour at Barcelona and could soon be on the move.

According to Turkish Football, Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde is hoping to make changes to his squad in January and has told Turan he will not be a part of his plans.

Turan, though, is said to be happy at Barcelona despite his lack of playing time and would only move to the Premier League.

That seems mighty convenient, as the one club he’s been linked with the most has been Arsenal.

In fact, it was only last week that there were reports claiming Arsenal had tried to sign in the summer but a deal, for whatever reason, didn’t go through despite Arsenal making a offer.

Turan, 30, joined Barcelona in 2015 from Atletico Madrid and has been a bit-part player since.

Nowadays, he’s barely that. He hasn’t made a single appearance under Valverde. He couldn’t even get a game in the Copa del Rey against lower league opposition.

In my view, he doesn’t appear to be the most attractive of transfer targets, and I’d hope the club is looking at younger and more exciting options.
