Barcelona have no plans to sell Aleix Vidal, according to reports.

The 28-year-old was heavily out-of-favour at Barcelona and seemingly had no future at the Catalan club. That led to reports of Vidal leaving Barcelona and joining either Arsenal or Inter Milan.

However, according to Calciomercato (via talkSPORT), Barcelona have no intention of selling Vidal as he’s in the plans of manager Ernesto Valverde.

Normally a right winger, Vidal signed for the Barcelona in the summer of 2015 after impressing as a right back for Sevilla and playing an important part in their Europa League win that season.

Due to Barcelona’s transfer ban, he didn’t officially join Barcelona until January that season and found himself firmly behind first choice right back Dani Alves.

When Alves left, Vidal became the back-up for Sergi Roberto. He’s now the back-up for Nelson Semedo.

Vidal has made just 33 appearances for Barcelona since joining, but has already made seven appearances for them this season and appears to be back in favour.

Arsenal currently have no back-up options for first choice right wing-back Hector Bellerin.

Mathieu Debuchy is still at the club, but in name only. 17-year-old Reiss Nelson, a winger, has been used there instead.
