Arsenal u23s continue their season against Sunderland on Monday night.

The u23 age group will be keen to bounce back straight away from their 4-2 defeat against Everton last time out.

They take on a Sunderland side without a win in their last five matches and who also lost their recent match against West Ham.

It’ll be a return to action for the likes of Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles. The trio will be looking to get some minutes under their belts ahead of their likely call-ups to the first team for Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade.

Elsewhere, Jeff Reine-Adelaide could feature as he steps up his return from injury, while there could also be appearances for Josh Dasilva, Marcus McGuane, Chuba Akpom and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal currently sit third in the Premier League 2 Division One table, having won four of their opening six games.

Much of that form has been down to their attacking quality, as they’ve scored 13 goals but have shipped 11.

Having conceded four goals to Everton last time out, Arsenal will be looking for a better defensive performance.

Involvement from first team players is expected to be limited, with one eye on the Europa League on Thursday.

Mathieu Debuchy remains absent, while it’s unknown if Calum Chambers is fit enough to play.
