Arsenal are reportedly set to offer Eddie Nketiah a new five-year deal complete with 650% pay-rise.

Eddie only has a year left on his current deal with the Gunners and given his impressive performance against Norwich City on Tuesday, Arsenal are allegedly keen to tie the 18-year-old for much longer.

According to the Sun, Arsenal are prepared to not only hand the ex-Chelsea striker a five-year deal, they’re also going to give him a 650% pay-rise. The England u19 international already supposedly earns £2k-per-week and this is set to rise to £15k.

To put this into perspective, this is reportedly £5k more than Rob Holding, who’s four years Eddie’s senior.

Even though this rumour comes from the Sun, it does make sense.

Alex Iwobi broke into Arsenal’s first team during the 2015/16 season and in April 2016 he signed a new bumper deal. The forward’s wages allegedly went from £10k-per-week to £30k. The Nigeria international was 19 at the time.

Eddie played for 35 minutes against Norwich in the League Cup on Tuesday night but managed to completely turn the result around. Arsenal had just minutes left on the clock when he came on and equalised with his first touch of the game. The teenager then went on to win it in extra time with a second.

It’s hardly a surprise that the Gunners apparently want to tie to youngster down to a new deal.
