Arsenal are monitoring Mexican winger Hirving Lozano, according to reports.

Arsenal had sent head scout Steve Rowley to watch PSV Eindhoven with other players in mind, but were distracted by the performances of Lozano.

That’s according to Xania News, who report that Arsenal were so impressed that they will go in with a £22.1m offer in January despite the fact that Lozano only joined PSV in the summer.

The Mexican has made an instant impact in the Eredivisie following his arrival from Pachuca. He’s scored six goals and has assisted two in six league games.

Lozano has won 20 caps for Mexico and is considered to be one of the best talents to emerge from Central America in a long time.

He’s played as a left winger for PSV this season, but can also operate on the right or down the middle.

Since the Eredivisie isn’t the strongest league in the world, there always has to be some caution when buying players from there.

Still, Lozano has taken well to European football and should be one worth watching throughout the season to see if he can keep up his remarkable form.
