Arsenal face competition for Sheff Utd’s David Brooks

Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly after Sheffield United midfielder, David Brooks.

Although Liverpool are allegedly in pole position to sign Brooks from United, Arsenal are also said to be interested in the exciting 20-year-old midfielder.

According to the Mirror, the Wales international will set either Premier League side back £10m after becoming one of the ‘hottest young properties’ in the Championship.

Jurgen Klopp has apparently been keeping his eye on Brooks this season after the youngster broke into the Blades’ first team.

Brooks made his debut in the League Cup against Leicester’s u23s in August 2016 and has gone on to make 12 appearances over all competitions for United already this season, providing three assists.

In September, he was called up for Wales’ senior squad to face Georgia and Ireland.

Newcastle and West Ham are also said to be interested. However, at the moment, it looks like Liverpool are the only team seriously in the frame.

Brooks signed for Sheffield United from Manchester City’s youth team in 2014. He had been there for 10 years but he’s since burst through the ranks with the Championship side.

In 2015, he went out on loan to Halifax Town where he scored once in five appearances but since returning, he’s not looked back.
