Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea serve the best food in the Premier League, according to a Brazilian journalist.

This is the view of Joao Castelo-Branco, who has been sampling Premier League cuisine for 15 years.

According to him, Arsenal, City and Chelsea serve the best food, while United, despite their enormous wealth, were very unimpressive.

“I’ve been to almost every stadium in the Premier League and there are definitely three highlights in regards to the food they serve: Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea,” he said, according to the S*n.

“City and Arsenal release beer after the game, but because I can never enjoy that part, because I work late and finish when it’s all closed, I’ll point to Chelsea as the best in this game [for] the quality and variety of food.”

If you’re thinking this is a clever allegory describing the quality of football, you’d be wrong. This is about actual food.

Amongst Chelsea’s spread, the S*n informs us, are pies, sandwiches, crisps, wraps, ravioli, macaroni, haddock and smoked salmon.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are said to serve the best desserts and provide just about every cake imaginable.

Eager to get a second opinion on Premier League good, the S*n got Esporte Interativo reporter, Fred Caldeira, to give his view.

“United’s service is not bad, but it’s behind the others I’ve experienced, like City and Arsenal.”

United’s cuisine apparently isn’t as good as the their rivals’. Castelo-Branco went a step further.

“The food is always poor, poor quality and little choice. A fifth category buffet.”

It’s good to know that even if the football Arsenal serve up isn’t always the best, they at least send journalists home well-fed.

They wouldn’t want them to be starving while they were writing their latest think pieces on what’s going wrong on Arsenal and why Mesut Ozil is secretly rubbish.
