Despite earlier concerns that Alexis Sanchez had picked up an injury, the Chilean now appears to be fit and taking part in normal training.

After playing the full 90 minutes of Arsenal’s match against Brighton, it seemed Alexis was suffering with some kind of knock, having been unable to train earlier in the week, reports El Mercurio via Sport Witness.

The 28-year-old has struggled to get fully fit for the Gunners this season, so there were some fears from fans that this could mean another couple of weeks on the sidelines when club action returned.

However, now La Tercera are reporting Sanchez trained normally on Wednesday, and will be available to start for Chile – no surprises there. Alexis seems to be slowly easing himself back to his best after the summer.

Chile’s top scorer has shown moments of genius in his matches so far: A world class finish against FC Köln, a near-perfect long-ball to Walcott to earn an assist against Doncaster Rovers and a clever back-heel to Alex Iwobi to help the Gunners secure the lead against Brighton.

However, he has also shown signs he’s not on top form. 15 shots in the Premier League without a single goal is a far cry from last season, when Alexis was averaging one goal every five. Once one goes in, he’ll hopefully go on a run, but for now we’re still waiting for that to happen.
