Former Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea defender Alex says Lucas Moura should move to Arsenal when the winter transfer window opens.

Alex told L’Equipe: “I would like to see him at Arsenal. They play cleaner football, more technical. He had contacts, I believe. That would be a good option for him this winter,” reports the Standard.

Lucas Moura has seriously struggled for game time so far this season with PSG. The 25-year-old played 53 games for the Ligue 1 outfit in 2016/17 but hasn’t even played that many minutes in the current campaign.

He’s managed two substitute appearances and sat on the bench for four other matches, sitting out of the squad entirely for the rest.

Despite that, he has managed to score a goal, in his 12-minute cameo against FC Metz. It seems that accommodating Neymar, Kylian Mbappé and Edinson Cavani in the team, whilst also keeping Julian Draxler happy, hasn’t left many positions available for Lucas.

Last season, the winger scored 19 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions, an impressive return for a wide player. One of those assists came against the Gunners in the 2-2 draw at the Emirates.

With Alexis Sanchez probably on the way out at the end of the season, Arsenal will need somebody to step up and provide goal threat.

Lucas could help in this regard, as he has continually stepped up his goal-scoring record season-by-season, and clearly isn’t a starter at PSG anymore. It remains to be seen how interested Arsène Wenger really is.
