Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez will play some part against FC Köln on Thursday, according to reports.

Arsenal plan to rotate the team for Thursday’s Europa League encounter with FC Köln. According to The Sun, Jack Wilshere and Alexis Sanchez will both be included in the starting line-up.

Alexis hasn’t played much football since returning from international duty with Chile. He returned to Arsenal training in August but had his preparations disrupted by illness, injury and a potential transfer to Manchester City.

A start against Liverpool, a brief cameo against Bournemouth and two starts for Chile are his only first-team minutes so far. Wilshere, meanwhile, is looking to build-up his fitness after recovering from a leg fracture. He also returned to training late and played a few u23 games.

Should Wilshere play, it’ll be his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt for over a year. He spent last season on loan with Bournemouth last season.

Alexis will be expected to return to Arsenal’s starting line-up in the Premier League before too long, while Wilshere – whose contract is up next June – will be using these cup games to regain fitness ahead of a potential move away from the club in January or the following summer.
